G. Wilson Horde has built a solid reputation as a competent, highly effective, and experienced trial attorney.  His primary area of practice is Litigation.  His class action litigation experience has allowed him to be at the forefront of the latest developments in the defense industry under contract to the U.S. Department of Energy/Department of Defense and product liability matters for private corporations.

Mr. Horde's exemplary legal career is as follows:

  • Partner in the law firm of Stone, Bozeman and Horde, 1956-1963
  • First Assistant U.S. Attorney, 1963-1967
  • Division Counsel for Union Carbide Corporation, 1967-1984
  • General Counsel for Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., 1984-1995
  • Vice President and General Counsel for Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc., 1995-1998
  • Class Action Counsel for Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc.,1998-2000
  • Of Counsel to Kramer Rayson LLP, 2000-present

Mr. Horde represents corporations in all areas of potential litigation exposure and has handled cases involving toxic chemicals, non-radioactive and radioactive substances, and product liability.

Representative Cases

Warren Smith, et al v. Union Carbide Corporation/Lockheed Martin Energy Systems

This case involved discharges from the plant which exceeded the state and other federal agency regulations of toxic chemicals and radioactive material.

Teresa Boggs, et al v. Goodyear Atomic Corporation/Lockheed Martin Energy Systems

This case involved air and water discharges which caused reduced land values of property within a certain radius from the plant.

Representative Matters

Mr. Horde recently resolved an out of state class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court significantly below the budget allowed for this litigation.  The potential exposure in this case was in the multi-millions--this settlement resolved this concern, as a very favorable result was achieved.  This result then was not a factor in the company's financial reporting requirements.

He recently resolved a matter involving 279 plaintiffs, and this case was handled well below the budget allowed for this litigation, with a favorable result being achieved and again as in cases involving exposure in the multi-millions, the client was very pleased.
