The firm of Kramer Rayson LLP was established in 1948 by the late Russell Reed Kramer. The firm engages in the general practice of law with the majority of its work consisting of representation of businesses in employment, tax and contractual matters, the representation of individuals in tax, estate, and trust matters, health law, and the defense or prosecution of civil claims. The firm handles both litigation and transactional matters.

Kramer Rayson LLP has thirty-one lawyers who are graduates of law schools at the University of Tennessee, the University of Memphis, Vanderbilt University, the University of Kentucky, Seattle University, the University of Virginia, Southern Methodist University, and the College of William and Mary.

The firm encourages its members to become involved in activities outside the practice of law. The attorneys have served on many local boards, including such institutions as the Knoxville Museum of Art, The University of Tennessee, and the Baptist Health System. In addition, firm members are actively involved in state and local bar associations and otherwise participate in numerous charitable and educational entities and activities.

The firm has offices in Knoxville and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Knoxville office is located on the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth floors of the First Tennessee Plaza. The firm's Oak Ridge office is located at 105 Donner Drive, Suite B.
