Betsy J. Beck received her bachelor of science degree in business administration, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee in 2000 and her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2003. While at the college of law, Beck was a member of the Tennessee Law Review and served as a student materials editor. She joined the firm in 2003 and is a member of the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations. Ms. Beck’s practice focuses on employment law and other civil litigation.
Beck represents and advises employers in matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour regulations, non-competition and trade secrets, and all other issues related to the employment relationship. Beck regularly assists employers in developing the necessary employment infrastructure by creating general polices and procedures, and drug and alcohol testing policies. Beck has developed, maintained and revised affirmative action plans for several large employers in East Tennessee. Beck also frequently develops and presents on-site training programs to the firm’s clients on various topics, including harassment, drug and alcohol awareness, litigation avoidance, and handling employee disabilities and medical leave. Beck is admitted to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the State Bar of Tennessee. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and Knoxville Bar Association. Beck also is a member of the American Inns of Court, Hamilton Burnett chapter. She and her husband, Taylor, live in Knoxville with their children, Lucy and Quinn. |
