E.H. Rayson is a trial lawyer with broad and in-depth experience in his practice areas of Employment and Labor and Litigation. He joined the firm, formerly known as Kramer, McNabb and Greenwood, in 1949. Mr. Rayson has handled numerous cases involving employment, labor, and environmental matters. He has also served as an arbitrator in a substantial number of labor disputes. Throughout his legal career, he has represented major employers, employees, and a major labor union. A substantial majority of the matters in which he has been involved have either been won outright or have ended in a favorable resolution to his clients. He has tried cases in both federal and state courts. His focus in each of his practice areas has been the same: a knowledge and understanding of the facts, how the facts can be proved, the applicable law, the time needed for preparation, the potential for resolution, and, ultimately, the proceedings in court. Tenn. 2010) Recent Presentations Mr. Rayson recently addressed the Knoxville Senior Bar in a speech entitled, "Chance and Change." Throughout the years of much change in the United States, lawyers have been and remain public advocates on great issues that shape the nation and the way legislation is to be constructed and applied. Representative Matters Mr. Rayson, with partner Beecher Bartlett, recently represented an elderly woman, with cancer and in desperate need, who had been discharged from her job. In a jury trial of several day's length and after months of preparation, a substantial judgment was awarded to this client. In another instance, with partner Tom Hale, he represented minority shareholders in a suit based on a theory of law novel in Tennessee, and after years of preparation, the argument of motions and the depositions of both lay and expert witnesses, a considerable settlement was achieved for their client.
