Over its 60 plus years of existence, Kramer Rayson attorneys have represented both employers, unions and pension funds, largely respresentation during the 50's, 60's and early 70'sof the United Mine Workers in numerous lawsuits brought throughout the southeast United States by or against coal mine operators.
Today, the firm's labor relations work focuses on advising employers in all aspects of union relations, from representational campaigns and elections, grievances and arbitrations, succesfully defending actions to compel arbitration and defending a variety of unfair labor practices, including those alleging retaliation, information requests, and other alleged violations of the duty to bargain. Our advice during economic strikes has assisted employers in avoiding conversion of the strike into unfair labor strike, unfair labor practice charges and in bringing negotiations to impasse so as to permit the employer to impose unilateral terms and conditions of employment. We have also obtained court-ordered injunctions against mass picketing and picket line violence.
